THE REFLECTIONS PROGRAM 2020-2021

Wakefield Forest PTA invites students in Grades K through 6 to participate in the 2020-2021 PTA Reflections Program! The Reflections Program encourages students to explore the arts and express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts.

This school year more than ever it is a great way to get involved while not being in school physically.

This year's theme is I Matter Because...

The Reflections Program offers six arts categories:

Dance Choreography: Solo and ensemble works of all dance styles.

Film Production: Short film styles to include: animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or media presentation.

Literature: Fiction and nonfiction to include: prose, poetry, reflective essay, screen play and play script, narrative, and short story.

Music Composition: All music styles and combinations of instrumentation are accepted.

Photography: Photo must be a single print/digital image.

Visual Arts: Works of both fine and design arts are accepted, including but not limited to: architectural drawing and models, ceramics, collage, computer generated images and graphics, crafts, drawing, fashion clothes and jewelry, fiber work, mixed media, painting, printmaking and sculpture.

Special Artist: Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.

Students may submit entries in one or more arts categories. This year you can drop your child's artwork and a student entry form at the house of Iza Thomas (the Reflections coordinator) in a plastic bin on her front steps! The address is 4708 Oak Forest Drive, Annandale, VA. The deadline to submit Reflections entries is October 25th.

We encourage all WF student artists to participate and are looking forward to seeing many wonderful pieces of art across the six categories.

Look out for more information in Weekly Updates. You can read also review the Rules and Instructions for Entry or contact program coordinator:
